If you can't think of anything nice to say....
You've probably heard that saying many times over the years. Am I right?
If you see something you disagree with, or it pushes your buttons for any reason, just scroll on by. Carry on your journey and forget it ever happened. That's the best way to deal with these kind of things, yet some people seem incapable of doing this.
I'm willing to bet most of the women out there waited with baited breath almost nine years ago to find out who was going to be cast as the damaged billionaire Christian Gray in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. It was one of those castings that, no matter who was picked, there was always going to be women who disagreed with it. Poor Jamie Dornan was criticised for everything from his accent, to his looks.
Women came out in hoards to say how the studios choice was completely wrong, and how their choice would have been so much better. I remember seeing actors such as Henry Cavill, Matt Bomer, and Ian Somerhalder being suggested by fans for the part of the guy with a penchant for BDSM, but ultimately, it was Jamie who was cast. It pretty much divided the women of not only the UK, but the world.
And now here we are again. Passionflix have signed on to produce the equally as erotic This Man, by British author Jodi Ellen Malpas. The story centres on Ava O'Shea, who is offered a job by handsome playboy Jesse Ward. Jesse makes it his mission to have Ava, by any means necessary.
The announcement of who has been cast as Jesse is as eagerly anticipated as the Christian announcement was. Ms Malpas as been teasing pictures from the set to build excitement, and boy has she done that.
Cue the bitchy comments.
Ladies, we're all grown ups here, or at least we're meant to be. Just because you don't particularly like an actor in the role, doesn't mean he won't kill the part. Yes, Jesse Ward is 100% straight, but could a gay actor play the part. Abso-bloody-lutely!!
So, as the title of this post says, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
